HELICOPTER PILOT

Helicopter Pilot A Tribute to Rock If the Gods of Rock ever birthed a child, the outcome would most likely be Helicopter Pilot, born solely to Rock Socks Off and destroy any band who dares imitate them... With that said, let's start from the beginning, back in time to when Helicopter Pilot was just a name for your average, run of the mill flight operator. No one could ever expect that four young boys would soon grow up to form a heavy-hitting, pulse-pounding, non-stop rocking band that no other could match.

Scott grew up in Boston, NY, where he started playing drums at the early age of 10. Scott went to school in Orchard Park, NY where he met his future guitarist, Brandon. Throughout middle school, Scott and Brandon formed a friendship and talked about their love for music and decided to get together one day to basically jam and see how things turned out. At the time, Brandon and Scott had only been playing their instruments for about 3 years, so nothing really clicked musically. Scott and Brandon still reserved their friendship but decided to keep music on the back burner.

Jay was raised in Lakeview, NY and attended Frontier High School...most of the time. It was there where he met Joe, the undiscovered musical prodigy who lived and breathed music since he was able to speak. Joe had mastered piano by the age of 15 and developed an incredible talent for singing. Joe and Jay formed a friendship, and from that Joe noticed Jay's interest in music and eagerness to learn how to play bass. Jay eventually went his own way musically and used Joe's lessons as his guideline.

In 2002, being seniors in high school, Scott and Brandon decided that it would be a good time to actually start up a band. They had been playing their instruments for about 8 years a piece and both deemed each other talented enough to form a band that would not only rock everyone's socks off, but stray from the manufactured mainstream pop/rock scene garbage and go back to the basics where real music and talent came from. Scott and Brandon then met Jay through a mutual friend and there began the early development of the band known as Helicopter Pilot. They began rocking out in Scott's basement, but noticed something was missing. No, not Brandon's intelligence, something that they just couldn't place. Jay finally recognized it and decided to call longtime friend Joe Donohue and ask him if was interested in joining a rock revolution. Joe accepted and brought to the table the missing link that the three band mates were searching for.

Helicopter Pilot was now complete. You can now see them play frequently all around the Buffalo area, including such places as: Limerick's, Pokey Joe's, Club Paradise, Coyotes', Mickey Rats, and more. Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Aerosmith, The Doors, the Rolling Stones, and all the rest of the Gods of Rock had influenced all of them heavily and motivated them to get out and destroy the manufactured garbage and rid the world of the phrase "Rock Is Dead". And what better tribute to pay to these gods than to learn their music and redistribute it back to the people who still believe Rock and Roll is alive and well and will never die.
