The
Cosmic Stepping Stones (C.S.S.) is an alternative pop/rock band.
Although C.S.S. became well established in 1999 when voted top
original rock band in Buffalo, N.Y., the band has evolved into
a more powerful group. There are many, talented features to the
band starting with Leah Pinnavaia who was voted top original female
vocalist in the Buffalo Music Awards for both 1999 and 2000. Leah
has a powerful, 7.5 octave vocal range, has studied music since
childhood (voice, clarinet, keyboards). Guitarist Joseph Pinnavaia
has an impressive style developed through receiving his BA in
music from the University of Buffalo, AAS in music from Villa
Maria College. C.S.S. has performed in clubs, record stores and
coffeehouses in the Northeast area of the U.S.

After
three independent CD releases, C.S.S. has taken a new a refreshing
approach to their music. Releases include: first CD release Symbiotica
(1996) and second CD release Garden (1998); numerous compilation
CDs including TRS Radio Deadly Sampler (1999),College Music Journal’s
Certain Damage (1998), The Buffalo Music Collective’s Music from
Here Volumes 1 and 2 (1997 and 1998), and Siberia Records’ No
Moss (1995) where C.S.S. did a Rolling Stones “Gimme Shelter”
tribute, C.S.S.’s version of Jingle Bells was released in 2001
on North Coast Noel compilation disc based out of Cleveland, Ohio
and received radio airplay in Cleveland during the holidays and
raised money for the 911 relief fund. Leah was a featured vocalist
on Stand America which raised money for 911 relief fund. C.S.S.
has also received consistent radio airplay of their song “Dis-co”
in San Marco, California on KKSM radio Q3 and other college radio
stations throughout the North East. Their Garden single “Only
if You Feel” has been on regular rotation on 105.1 “The River”
in Southern Ontario and Western New York. C.S.S. completed their
third release - self titled - and plan to release an EP with acclaimed
Toronto Producer, Jim Huff (The Headstones, I Mother Earth, Triumph,
Teenage Head) just before the spring of 2003.
